Former Tennessee Vol and NFL legend Peyton Manning once revealed that the “Omaha” call at the line was an indicator word. Essentially, “Omaha” represented to the linemen that Manning was electing to go with Plan B, whatever that might have been, as the play clock was running down.
The word Omaha also represents the location of the Men’s College World Series – a place the Tennessee Volunteers are currently in for the second time in the last three seasons.
Tennessee will compete in the Men’s College World Series on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. The team arrived in Omaha on Wednesday and will close down the day on Thursday with a practice before continuing the work en route to the game.
Calling back to their pre-Omaha collaboration in 2021, Manning and the Tennessee content team worked together once again to provide a funny video for the Vol fans excited about the weekend.

As mentioned, Manning teamed up with Tennessee and head coach Tony Vitello before the 2021 Men’s College World Series. The Tennessee legend taught Vitello the right way to say Omaha, even if it took a time or two along the way.

How can you misunderstand what Omaha meant this badly. Omaha just meant to snap the ball on the next sound of my voice. You can tell that on account of how that’s always what happened when Peyton used the word. I really don’t know where you invented this other theory. Peyton never said that explicitly.
