Tennessee baseball head coach and players Zane Denton and Drew Beam met with the media following the Vols’ 5-0 win over Southern Miss in game three of the Hattiesburg Super Regional to punch their ticket to the College World Series.
Vitello, Beam and Denton share their thoughts on what it means to accomplish such a feat and more.
Beam was excellent in 7.0 innings of work in game three, giving up no runs on seven hits. Zane Denton once again provided the big swing for Tennessee, cranking a three-run home run in the fifth to put Tennessee up 4-0.
In a game that featured such good pitching from Tennessee, the offense didn’t need to do much, and Denton’s homer put an Omaha berth well within striking distance.
Chase Burns slammed the door on Southern Miss in relief, allowing no hits in 2.2 innings of work.
