The Tennessee Volunteers advanced to the College World Series by defeating Southern Mississippi, two games to one, in the Hattiesburg Super Regional this past weekend. Tennessee fought hard throughout trying circumstances with the weather and being down 0-1 to come back and win two straight games on Sunday and Monday.
Tennessee, a team that some had written off back in February and March, is now one of the final eight teams left in the season. The Vols now have a date with LSU on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET in the first round of the College World Series.
Despite Tennessee closing down the game at nearly 1:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning, Twitter was still active with Tennessee fans and people who were watching the late-night battle. Here’s a look at some of the top reactions from Twitter after the Tennessee Volunteers and head coach Tony Vitello punched their second ticket to Omaha in the last three years.

For the record, June 12th last year Ole Miss clinched their trip to Omaha vs Southern Miss with a 5-0 win in Hattiesburg and we all know how that ended. Last night….Tennessee just did the same thing. #Destiny #GBO

I said it before the tournament that Tennessee was one of the most dangerous teams in the nation if they get the bats going. The matchup is now set in Omaha as LSU will take on Tennessee Saturday night.
