The Hattiesburg Super Regional is one of just two still being played along with the Stanford Super Regional between the Cardinal and Texas.
It’s been a wild two days in Southern Mississippi as weather delays pushed the final four and a half innings of game one between the Vols and Golden Eagles to Sunday. Southern Miss held on to take the opener 5-3.
Rain could plausibly come into effect again Monday with thunderstorms in the forecast for Hattiesburg in the afternoon and evening.

Tennessee evened the series Sunday afternoon, overcoming an early 4-0 deficit with a six-run fourth inning which propelled the Vols to an 8-4 victory.
Chase Dollander was fantastic on the mound for Tennessee in eight innings pitched while both Blake Burke and Jared Dickey provided clutch hits for the Vols’ offense.
“We have been coming together,” Tennessee coach Tony Vitello said after the win. “I think the cool thing about these guys is that it was an emotional win but a quick reflection on it and move forward to tomorrow. Give us another day so we can try to come together a little about more.”
The pitching matchup for the series finale is set with RHP Drew Beam getting the ball for Tennessee and RHP Niko Mazza getting the ball for Southern Miss.
The winner of game three goes to the College World Series in Omaha. Tennessee is looking for its sixth ever CWS appearance and first since 2021. Southern Miss is looking for its second ever CWS appearance and first since 2009.
