Last Friday, the SEC decided on an eight-game conference schedule for 2024 with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma.
The SEC will also no longer have divisions.
The SEC was deciding on whether to do an eight-game conference schedule with one permanent rival or a nine-game conference schedule with three permanent rivals.
As for 2024, Tennessee will likely play its normal rivals, as there’s no set plan given the SEC went with a temporary solution for 2024.
But what if the eight-game schedule stays the same in 2025 and beyond?

If that were to happen, the only opponent Tennessee would play every year is Vanderbilt. Therefore, Tennessee-Alabama would no longer be annual as well as Tennessee-Kentucky and Tennessee-Florida.
