A Chattanooga native, Jefferson stars for the Baylor School where he caught 72 passes for 1,370 yards and 17 touchdowns while helping lead the Red Raiders to the Division II-AAA state title.
Jefferson ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 270 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The pass catcher also ranks as the nation’s 23rd best athlete and the fifth best prospect in the state of Tennessee.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Tennessee is running third to Alabama and Georgia in Jefferson’s recruitment and Jefferson’s visit frequency tells a similar story.
The blue-chip recruit has visited Tennessee twice in the last year, taking in the Vols’ win over Florida at Neyland Stadium last season before returning for a spring unofficial visit.
Jefferson has thrice visited both Alabama and Georgia in the last year and has official visits scheduled to each school later this month.
Tennessee’s recruiting class currently contains 11 commitments but none are from receivers after four-star JJ Harrell backed off his pledge to the Vols earlier this week. Josh Heupel, Kelsey Pope and the Vols are in the thick of five-stars’ Mike Matthews and Ryan Wingo’s recruitment.
The Vols’ 11 commit recruiting class currently ranks 10th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
