Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello and players Zane Denton and Chase Burns met with the media following the Vols’ thrilling 6-5 win over Clemson in 14 innings to discuss their instant thoughts on the victory.

In what was an instant classic in Doug Kingsmore Stadium Saturday night, the Vols used a three-run ninth-inning rally to take the lead heading into the bottom of the ninth. Clemson would tie it, but the Vols would go on to out-duel the Tigers and win in a 14-inning baseball game.

In the win, Denton was responsible for hitting the three-run home run when Tennessee was down to their final out in the ninth. Chase Burns was arguably the MVP of Tennessee’s win, throwing 99 pitches in a 6.1-inning relief outing from the fifth inning to the 11th inning.
