Tennessee outfielder Jared Dickey is a Second Team All-SEC outfield selection after turning in a strong redshirt sophomore season.
Dickey is the only Vol to land on either of the All-SEC teams and was the most productive Tennessee player during the regular season. Catching and playing in left field, Dickey hit .348 with six doubles, 12 home runs and 46 RBIs.
Hitting in the three-hole for most of the season, Dickey was the consistent catalyst of Tennessee’s offense and impressed with his versatility at the plate. The Mount Juliet, Tennessee native hit for power, hit for contact, delivered in the clutch and could go the other way to beat the shift.

The left-handed bat was even better in SEC play, hitting .369 with 12 extra-base hits, six home runs and 23 RBIs. Dickey posted a .432 OBP with a very impressive 11.3% strikeout rate.
“Here in the cage, not only does he take a ton of repetitions, but he has a plan, too,” Tennessee coach Tony Vitello said. “He’s not just in here swinging to swing. I’m sure there is someone on the team who has taken more swings, but I don’t know if there is someone who has done it with more intent and more of a specific plan than what he wants to accomplish.”
Dickey missed three games near the end of conference play with a shoulder injury but before that he had a 14 game hit streak, a 15 game hit streak in SEC play and had multiple hits in eight of his last 10 games. The left fielder’s consistency is one of his greatest skills.
Dickey and Tennessee return to the field at approximately 1:30 p.m. ET Tuesday against Texas A&M at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.
