Tennessee right-handed pitcher Seth Halvorsen is the Vols’ projected starter for their SEC Tournament opener against Texas A&M Tuesday afternoon.
Texas A&M LHP Troy Wansing (2-3, 5.98 ERA) will get the start for the Aggies against Tennessee. Halvorsen is making his first start of the season and his Tennessee career after being Missouri’s Friday night starter in 2021.
The key bullpen arm enters the matchup with a 2-2 record, 3.96 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 38.2 innings pitched this season. Halvorsen threw three combined innings in two outings against Texas A&M in the regular season, allowing two walks, no hits and one unearned run in the Vols’ weekend sweep.
