Five-star running back Jerrick Gibson released his top five including Tennessee football Tuesday night. The Vols joined Florida, Georgia, Miami and Texas in the talented back’s top group.

The IMG Academy standout is one of the top players in the country, ranking as a five-star recruit and the No. 26 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Gibson also ranks as the No. 1 running back in the nation and the No. 6 overall player in the state of Florida.
Gibson took a trio of visits to Knoxville during 2022 including for Tennessee’s wins over Florida and Alabama last fall. While Gibson hasn’t been back to Knoxville in 2023, the five-star has a June official visit scheduled to Tennessee.

While Gibson is no stranger to Tennessee’s campus, he’s taken more visits to a handful of other schools in his top five. The blue chip recruit has visited Florida four times since the start of 2022 including twice in 2023.
Gibson has been to both Texas and Miami three total times since the start of 2022 with two visits to Austin this year and one to Miami. The IMG Academy standout has visits scheduled to each school.
Both 247sports crystal ball and On3’s prediction machine view Texas as the leader in Gibson’s recruitment.
Tennessee doesn’t have a running back committed in its 2024 recruiting class but is in the top group for four-stars Braylen Russell and Peyton Lewis.
The Vols’ 11 commit recruiting class ranks No. 10 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
