The Tennessee Volunteers finished the 2023 NFL Draft with five selections, all of which came before the fourth round of the event in Kansas City.
Alabama and Georgia led the SEC with 10 selections each. Florida and LSU, meanwhile, both had six selections. Tennessee comes in tied with Auburn and South Carolina with five selections. Interestingly enough, the bottom seven teams from the SEC have the same amount of combined selections as the top two teams.
The Southeastern Conference led the entire country in draft picks with 62 in total. The Big Ten was next with 55, followed by the ACC with 32 and the Big 12 with 30. Tennessee had the same amount of draftees as the Mountain West Conference (5) and had two more than Conference USA (3). The SEC had 65 players drafted in both the 2022 and 2021 drafts in recent offseasons.
Tennessee’s five draft picks from the 2023 NFL Draft give the Vols a total of 384 all-time selections since the first draft in 1936.
