Tennessee football made the top six for blue chip Virginia running back Peyton Lewis Friday morning. The Vols joined Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Penn State and South Carolina in Lewis’ top group.

Lewis ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 206 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot, 190 pound running back also ranks as the No. 14 running back in the country and No. 3 overall player in the state of Virginia.

The Salem, Virginia native hasn’t been overly active during the recruiting process but has been to Knoxville once. Lewis visited Tennessee in March and the Vols are looking to host the four-star for a summer official visit.

Lewis has also visited James Madison, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State and South Carolina in 2023. The four-star running back has a June official visit planned to South Carolina— the only official visit he currently has scheduled.

Tennessee’s 11 commit recruiting class currently contains five commits on the offensive side of the ball but none are running backs. The Vols are also in the top group for four-star Arkansas running back Braylen Russell.

The Vols 11 commit recruiting class ranks 10th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
