The era of alternate uniforms at the University of Tennessee continues to strike the right notes.
With brand new jerseys debuting in the last few years and more on the way across several different sports, Tennessee is finding new ways to show off its brand, style, and culture on its respective playing surface.
The newest uniform release came from Tennessee on Monday morning as the Vols’ track and field team joins the “Dark Mode” uniform train.

Tennessee dropped the new Dark Mode uniforms in time for the SEC Outdoor Championships. The event will take place this Thursday, May 11, and run through Saturday, May 13. The SEC Outdoor Championships will take place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
It’s postseason time in the track and field world. Following the SEC Championships this week will be the NCAA East Preliminary Championships in Jacksonville, FL, from May 24 to May 27. Then comes the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, TX, on June 7 through June 10.
Tennessee’s football team debuted the Dark Mode uniforms during the 2021 season but couldn’t complete the look with a black helmet due to supply-chain issues following the pandemic. One year later, though, the Vols put the complete look together for a one-of-a-kind look against Kentucky in Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee Baseball also brought out Dark Mode uniforms for the first time during the 2021-2022 season.
In addition to the Dark Mode uniforms, the Tennessee softball, volleyball, women’s basketball, and soccer teams all have worn brand-new Summitt Blue uniforms this past season to honor the legacy of Pat Summitt and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX.
