Five-Star Linebacker Sets Official Visit Date To Tennessee

Five-star linebacker Sammy Brown will officially visit Tennessee the weekend of May 26, 247sports Steve Wiltfong reported Wednesday afternoon.

Brown’s trip to Knoxville is the first of five summer official visits. The blue-chip linebacker will follow up his official visit to Tennessee with official visits to Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State.

The Jefferson, Georgia native is one of the best players in the entire 2024 cycle, ranking as a five-star recruit and the No. 12 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Brown also ranks as the No. 1 linebacker in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.

Brown has been a frequent visitor on Tennessee’s campus since Josh Heupel’s staff took over. The five-star recruit has visited Knoxville five times including for the Florida game last fall and again earlier this spring.

The elite prospect has been to Clemson and Georgia even more frequently than Tennessee, taking nine visits to Athens and seven to Clemson during the recruiting process. Brown has visited Ohio State three times and Oklahoma once.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class contains 10 commits but none are from linebacker. The Vols are in the thick of recruitments for a number of linebackers in the 2024 cycle including Nashville four-star Edwin Spillman.

Tennessee’s 10 commit recruiting class ranks 10th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
