Bet NBA Player Prop Bets for May 2

Miami Heat at New York Knicks, 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT) — Heat lead series 1-0

Jimmy Butler has been as electric as any star in the league, and he has the Heat in a great position to make yet another unexpected run to the Eastern Conference Finals. However, both the Knicks and Heat are ailed by injuries to their most important players. Butler and Knicks players Jalen Brunson, and Julius Randle are all nursing ankle injuries and are questionable for Game 2. With the stars’ injury statuses uncertain, the pressure shifts to the supporting cast.

Gabe Vincent to Score Over 15 Points (+120 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

Vincent hasn’t been shooting the best in the playoffs, but he has been the second-leading scorer for the Heat in their last two games. Despite poor shooting from the field so far, Vincent has found his rhythm from beyond the arc over the previous two games. He shot 4 for 12 from deep in the closeout game vs. the Bucks, and 5 for 12 in Game 1 vs. the Knicks. With Butler hobbled Vincent may be in line for even more attempts.

He has scored at least four 3-pointers in four of the Heat’s six playoff games on better than 40% shooting. His rhythm from beyond the arc right now puts him in a good position to cover this wager. It may also be worth considering him to score more than 20 points. FanDuel has that option for him listed at +410.

Kevin Love to Score Over 10 Points (+100 on FanDuel)

Love is far from his glory days, but he is still capable. With Butler performing the way he has in the postseason, there hasn’t been much of a need to feature Love’s abilities. However, without Butler or a lesser version of him on the court due to injury, the Heat are going to be hard-pressed to generate offense. One weapon at the team’s disposal that head coach Erik Spoelstra may consider is posting up Love.

He hasn’t done it consistently in a while, but he is still more than capable in spurts. With a potential return to a game plan from his prime years, scoring 10 points isn’t farfetched for the aging vet.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors, 10 p.m. ET (TNT) — Game 1

These teams may have the most popular players in the game today, but they both went into their first-round matchups as underdogs. Since then, they have both defied the odds and re-established themselves as championship contenders. The Warriors are the favorites to win the series, but the additional rest between games could come in handy for the Lakers, specifically LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Antony Davis to Score Over 25 Points (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Davis has been up and down all season long, and that has remained the case in the postseason. Injuries have played a role in slowing down the Laker’s big man, but come game time, the Lakers would have had four days off to rest and prepare for the game. That is ample time for Davis to charge his battery for a good showing.

In his last matchup against the Warriors in the regular season, he scored 39 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field. Thanks to James and the Laker’s perimeter shooting, Davis should have space to operate against Golden State’s Kevon Looney, who he is averaging 26 points per game against on 50% shooting. The Warriors potentially turning to Draymond Green for help against Davis may not do much good against a fresh Davis either, as he hasn’t fared too much better than Looney against Davis.

Additionally, the Warriors are tied with the Kings for pace of play this season. Although the Lakers aren’t too far behind, they don’t play nearly as fast. Slowing down the game will be key to staying within striking distance for the Lakers, and posting Davis is an effective way to pull it off. That bodes well for his odds of covering this wager.
