Tennessee baseball carried over its success from its weekend sweep of Vanderbilt by going 4-0 on the week with a midweek win over Bellarmine and another weekend sweep of Mississippi State.

The Vols blew a five-run lead in the series opener before Griffin Merritt hit a walk-off homer in the ninth inning to claim the win. The script flipped on Friday when Tennessee overcame a five-run deficit to clinch the weekend series. Tennessee made easy work of the Bulldogs on Saturday, run-ruling Mississippi State in seven innings.

Tennessee enters the new week on a seven-game winning streak and playing as well as any team in the SEC. The Vols look to continue their home success on the road as they travel to Georgia.

Tony Vitello’s sixth Tennessee team is moving up in the rankings after its second consecutive sweep.
