Tennessee basketball senior guard Santiago Vescovi threw out the first pitch in Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Friday night ahead of game two between Tennessee baseball and Mississippi State.
Vescovi, who was welcomed with a loud round of applause from fans in Lindsey Nelson Stadium, took the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch while left-handed reliever Kirby Connell served as the catcher.
Vescovi’s pitch went over the plate and was a true first-pitch strike. Watch Vescovi’s first pitch below.

The upcoming super-senior recently announced his intentions to return for his final year of eligibility, as the LNS PA announcer mentioned while Vescovi was making his way to the mound.
Vescovi is just one of multiple popular names to have thrown the first pitch out at Lindsey Nelson Stadium recently.
During the Vanderbilt series, all-time Lady Vol softball great Monica Abbott threw out the first pitch in the series opener. A day later, VFL quarterback Josh Dobbs threw out the first pitch in the second game of the series.
Additionally, popular country artist Conner Smith threw out the first pitch in the series opener against the Bulldogs on Thursday night.
