Tennessee Football is set to celebrate homecoming this year during the Vols’ game against UConn in Knoxville on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023.
The Volunteers’ game against UConn will be the ninth game on the schedule. In addition, it will also be Tennessee’s return back to Knoxville after a two-game road stretch at Alabama (10/21) and at Kentucky (10/28). Tennessee will then close the season at Missouri (11/11), against Georgia (11/18), and against Vanderbilt (11/25).
While UConn did just win the National Championship on the basketball court last season, the Huskies’ football department finished the 2022 season just under .500 (6-7) after a 28-14 loss to Marshall in the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl. UConn found wins against Central Connecticut, Fresno State, Florida International, Boston College, UMass, and No. 19 Liberty.
Tennessee put a new twist on the 2022 homecoming game against UT Martin this past season in Knoxville. To complement the all-orange uniform combination, Tennessee also added in Summitt Blue accessories, including wrist bands, sleeves, socks, mouthguards, and more items.
The Summitt Blue color celebrates the 50-year anniversary of Title XI on campus and honors longtime Lady Vols head coach and innovator in the sport of basketball, Pat Summitt. UT Martin served as the alma mater for the iconic Tennessee head coach.
Will we see Tennessee bring out another unique uniform twist for homecoming this year? We’ll just have to wait and see.
The 2023 Tennessee Football season kicks off in Nashville’s Nissan Stadium against Virginia on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
