Tennessee Football has good news on the recruiting trail for a second straight weekend.
Class of 2024 defensive lineman Jeremias Heard has officially announced his commitment to Tennessee through a post on social media on Friday night. Heard makes for the 10th total commitment into Josh Heupel’s current recruiting class.
“1000% committed,” Heard said in his post. “Let’s go VOL Nation.”
Heard is a 6-foot-8, 293-pound defensive lineman playing his high school ball for Model 9-12 in Rome, Georgia. The talented and tall player holds a three-star ranking according to On3 Sports and 247Sports. Additionally, according to On3’s composite rankings, Heard is the No. 95 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 100 player from the state of Georgia.
Heard is also a gifted basketball player for Model 9-12.
While he has been garnering interest from high-level programs as his junior year comes to a close, Heard’s one and only scholarship offer comes from Rodney Garner and Tennessee. The Vols extended Heard a scholarship on Dec. 7 coming off of two unofficial visits in October (Kentucky game) and November (Missouri game).
Heard was then back in Knoxville this previous weekend as an attendee of Tennessee’s Orange & White spring game in Neyland Stadium.
Three-star defensive lineman Jeremias Heard is Tennessee’s fourth commitment to the 2023 class from the month of April. The Vols received back-to-back commitments from three-star OT Jesse Perry and three-star OL Gage Ginther on April 7 and 8, respectively, before landing three-star safety Edrees Farooq on April 16.
