Tennessee running back target Braylen Russell will announce his college commitment on July 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET, the four-star recruit announced Tuesday night.

Russell announces his commitment date less than a week after unveiling his top five schools including Arkansas, Baylor, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Russell is one of Tennessee’s top running back targets in the 2024 recruiting class and has twice visited Knoxville in the last year, first camping with Tennessee last June before returning to Knoxville for an unofficial visit earlier this month.

The Bentonville, Arkansas native ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 288 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Russell also ranks as the No. 25 running back in the country and the fourth best player in the state of Arkansas.

While Russell has been no stranger to taking visits to Tennessee, he’s been to home state Arkansas more than any other school, visiting Fayetteville three times in the last year and five times total throughout the recruiting process.

The four-star recruit hasn’t announced any plans for official visits before his commitment but June has become a popular month for recruits to take official visits during the recruiting process.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains nine commitments but none are from running backs. Josh Heupel and his staff have long targeted Russell as one of their top running back targets in the class.

The Vols’ nine commit recruiting class ranks ninth nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
