Four-star Arkansas running back Braylen Russell released his top five including Tennessee football Friday afternoon.

Arkansas, Baylor, South Carolina and Texas A&M joined the Vols in the blue chip recruit’s top group.

Russell is one of Tennessee’s top running back targets in the 2024 recruiting class ranking as the nation’s No. 288 player and No. 25 running back according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 230 pound running back is a physical bruiser and is the No. 4 player in the state of Arkansas.

The Benton, Arkansas native has taken a pair of visits to Tennessee in the last year, visiting Knoxville in June before returning for a visit earlier this month.

Russell has visited no other school as much as the home state Razorbacks. The four-star recruit has made the 220 mile trip to Fayetteville five times during his recruitment including for two games last fall. However, Russell has not returned to Arkansas in 2023.

Ole Miss is the only other school Russell has visited but the Rebels didn’t even make the blue chip recruit’s top five. Russell has yet to visit Baylor, South Carolina or Texas A&M.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class contains eight commits including five offensive players. However, the Vols have yet to land a running back in this class.

The Vols’ eight-commit recruiting class ranks ninth nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
