One of the best high school players in the 2025 recruiting cycle in unofficially visiting Tennessee Friday. Five-star Mississippi native Caleb Cunningham shared he would visit Tennessee this weekend on his Twitter Tuesday night.

Cunningham ranks as one of the top high school sophomores and a five-star recruiting according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-3 pass catcher ranks as the No. 7 player and No. 2 receiver in the country.

An Ackerman, Mississippi native, Cunningham has frequently visited the two instate schools vying for his commitment. The five-star visited Ole Miss for four different games last fall and visited Mississippi State for one game before returning to Starkeville in January.

Cunningham has visited plenty of other schools outside of the Magnolia State including Florida State (three times), Alabama (twice), Miami (twice) as well as Florida, South Carolina, LSU and Auburn once. The highly sought after receiver’s weekend visit will be his first to Tennessee as the Vols try to become a serious player in his recruitment.

Tennessee has had success recruiting receivers out of Mississippi under Josh Heupel, landing top 100 recruit JJ Harrell in late February.

The Vols are still in the very early stages of building their 2025 recruiting class, landing cornerback Shamar Arnoux as its first commitment over the weekend.

For now, Josh Heupel and his staff’s recruiting focus is primarily on the 2024 recruiting class but getting Cunningham on campus is a good start to building the 2025 recruiting class.
