The 2023 Tennessee Football spring game is officially around the corner as the Volunteers prepare for their final week of the spring slate in Knoxville.

The Orange and White game will be played this Saturday, Apr. 15, in Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium. The cost of admission will be five dollars.

This will be Tennessee’s return to the Orange & White game in front of fans for just the second time in the last four seasons.

Tennessee’s 2020 spring game was promptly cut off almost one month exactly following the start of lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vols were forced to cancel the event en route to an up-and-down, forgettable pandemic football season just a few months later.

The spring game returned in 2021, though, with a new coach in charge. On April 24, 2021, newly appointed head coach Josh Heupel and his coaching staff conducted their first Tennessee spring camp inside Neyland Stadium.

The Orange & White game hit another speedbump in 2022 as the Vols had to move the spring camp to the practice field, behind closed doors from fans, due to ongoing construction inside Neyland Stadium. The 2022 spring game was played just a few months before the completion of the Neyland add-ons, such as the party deck in the north endzone, the club-level seating on the west side of the stadium, and the new lounge area underneath the west side seating.

So now, after only one spring game in the last three years, Tennessee fans are ready to get back out to Neyland Stadium for the Orange & White game this Saturday, April 15.

As previously mentioned, Tennessee will collect a five-dollar entry fee, with all proceeds contributing to the My All campaign, according to a Tennessee press release.

From UT Sports’ press release:

“Admission to the Orange & White Game is $5 for non-premium seats, and all proceeds will count as a contribution to the My All Campaign. All seats can be secured now at AllVols.com or by calling the UT Athletic Ticket Office at (865) 656-1200. All open sections of the bowl of Neyland Stadium will be general admission seating.

One of the big additions to University of Tennessee sporting events under the watchful eye of Athletic Director Danny White has been the community aspects coinciding with sporting events. White has launched a number of Vol Village hangouts and watch parties during baseball games, spring football games, preseason basketball, and many more events. These Vol Village hangouts give fans a great opportunity to hang out with other Tennessee fans, listen to live music, eat the food that’s brought in, and watch the event from a different perspective.

Saturday’s Vol Village Music Festival will be headlined by “Top 50 Billboard country charts artist Matt Stillwell as well as Knoxville native Emily Anne Roberts.”

“Stillwell’s debut single ‘Shine’ was top 25 on the iTunes Country chart and top 50 on the Billboard country rankings. His song, ‘I’m a Vol for Life Y’all,’ has garnered over 1 million streams and over 400,000 plays on Apple Music. His current release, ‘Hey Dad,’ written as a tribute to his late father, has generated over one million streams and over 40 million collective video views. [Emily Anne] Roberts was a contestant on NBC’s The Voice where she became a finalist on season nine as a member of team Blake Shelton. In 2018, she released her first single ‘Stuck on Me and You,’ which charted in the top 40 on iTunes.”

The Vol Village activities will kickoff at Noon ET on Saturday.

According to Tennessee’s press release, fans can enter the stadium through one of the following gates: 13, 14, 15-A,  16, 17, 20, 21, 22, and 23. Note that some gates (1-12) will be closed due to ongoing Neyland Stadium construction.

On-campus parking lots will open up at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning in Knoxville. Tennessee states that free parking will be available at these locations:

  • Ag Campus with free shuttles running to and from; begins at 11:30 a.m.
  • G10 Garage via Neyland Dr. entry
  • 11th Street Garage at 1100 Cumberland Ave.
  • White Avenue Garage at 1621 White Ave.
  • G17 Garage at 1800 Lake Ave.
Tennessee Football: Josh Heupel Details Offensive Breakdown After Spring Camp Scrimmage

The 2023 Tennessee Football team has been going hard this fall, as evidenced by the media during a number of practices. The Vols are about to embark on their fourth and final week of spring camp starting with their 10th practice on Tuesday. Tennessee will then have another practice later in the week before the spring game on Saturday.

The Vols have also already participated in two closed-door scrimmages in Neyland this season, though. Head coach Josh Heupel was complimentary of his team coming out of both. Heupel specifically noted how impressive the defense was after the first scrimmage and pointed to the running backs as the stars of the show after the second one.

The Tennessee 2023 Orange & White Game will take place in Neyland Stadium this Saturday, April 15, at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Vol Village festivities will begin from Lot 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET until noon.
