Tennessee football made the top 10 for elite prep defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman, the four-star recruit announced on Easter Sunday.

Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas joined the Vols in Beaman’s top group.

Beaman is one of the top defensive linemen in the country, ranking as the No. 95 player and No. 13 defensive lineman in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive lineman plays his prep football at Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. It’s a tall task for Josh Heupel, defensive line coach Rodney Garner and the rest of the Vols’ coaching staff to beat out home state schools Alabama and Auburn as well as Georgia to land the blue-chip recruit.

Beaman has taken one visit to Tennessee, taking in the Vols victory over Missouri last fall. The four-star recruit has yet to return to Knoxville in 2023 and Tennessee needs to get Beaman back on campus to become a serious player in his recruitment.

The interior defensive lineman has visited both Alabama and Auburn four times in the last year including twice since the start of this calendar year. Beaman has also visited Georgia twice in 2023. The Birmingham native has visited both Clemson and Florida State once in the last year.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains eight commitments but just one defensive lineman— Chattanooga three-star Carson Gentle.

The Vols’ eight commit recruiting class ranks seventh nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
