Four-star cornerback Ify Obidegwu is unofficially visiting Tennessee this weekend in the midst of the Vols’ spring practice.
Obidegwu is one of the nation’s top cornerback recruits and released a top seven including Alabama, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Southern Cal and Tennessee last month.

The Baltimore, Maryland native ranks as the nation’s 93rd best player and 11th best cornerback according to the 247sports composite rankings. Obidegwu is a prep standout at Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy— the same school junior defensive lineman Dominic Bailey attended.
Obidegwu hadn’t visited Tennessee until the Vols’ January Junior Day but is back for a second time in less than three months as the Vols have become a serious player in the blue chip corner’s recruitment.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound corner has been a busy man in 2023, taking visits to a number of schools including two to Oregon and one to both Ohio State and Maryland.
Obidegwu hasn’t indicated any timetable for when he will announce a college commitment as he continues to work through the recruiting process.
Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains six commits including two defensive backs. Four-star Nashville cornerback Kaleb Beasley committed to Tennessee in October and four-star Cleveland, TN safety Marcus Goree Jr. committed to Tennessee in February.
The Vols’ six-commit recruiting class ranks No. 6 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
