Former Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs is heading back to the AFC North, signing a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns Tuesday afternoon.
Dobbs’ one-year deal is worth $2 million guaranteed and brings him back to a team he has previously played for and a division he has spent the majority of his career.
The dual-threat quarterback began the 2022 season with the Browns where he served as Jacob Brissett’s backup while Deshaun Watson served his 11-game suspension. Dobbs later signed with the Tennessee Titans where he started the final two games of the season due to Ryan Tannehill’s ankle injury and back up Malik Willis struggles.
In two games, Dobbs completed 40-of-68 passes for 411 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions.

A fourth round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Dobbs spent the first two and a half years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before they dealt him to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dobbs spent the remainder of the season with Jaguars before going back to Pittsburgh for the next two seasons.
Dobbs played in six total games in Pittsburgh, completing 10-of-17 passes for 45 yards and an interception.
The Alpharetta, Georgia native starred at Tennessee for four seasons including the final two as a full time starter. Dobbs was a fantastic runner and developed into a strong passer by his final season in Knoxville.
