Tennessee Football head coach Josh Heupel met with the media Monday morning to discuss where his team is at on day one of Spring Practice.
Heupel touched on a wide range of topics, including the secondary, wide receivers, Joe Milton III, Nico Iamaleava and more.
Heupel went into depth on how it was important to bring new blood into the DB room, and that it is crucial the group stays healthy throughout spring practice so they can all develop.
When talking about the quarterbacks, Heupel noted that Iamaleava has taken coaching well and has a ‘great sense or urgency’ to get better. Additionally, Heupel said the rest of the team fully believes in him.
When addressing the wideouts, Heupel shared that Dont’e Thornton has impressed thus far and checks a lot of boxes when it comes to size and speed. Heupel added that the most challenging task for Thornton moving forward is to grasp the offense quickly in year one on Rocky Top.
