Four-seed Tennessee is officially Sweet 16 bound.
The Vols defeated a red-hot five-seed Duke squad by a score of 65-52 on Saturday afternoon in Orlando, FL, to advance to their first Sweet 16 since the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
Tennessee forward Olivier Nkamhoua was certainly the star of the show for Rick Barnes’ Tennessee squad. The senior scored 23 of his 27 total points in the second half of play and helped propel Tennessee to a double-digit win over the blue-blood Blue Devils.
Nkamhoua wasn’t the only contributor on Saturday, though. While he was the leader in scoring for the day, clutch performances from Jonas Aidoo and Santiago Vescovi added to Tennessee’s success.
After the game, head coach Rick Barnes, Nkamhoua, and Vescovi all met with the media on the stage. Rocky Top Insider was also able to talk to several other players after the game in the Tennessee locker room as well.
