Tennessee baseball turned in its second consecutive 5-0 week, winning a pair of midweek bouts against Charleston Southern before sweeping Gonzaga at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Shortstop Maui Ahuna made his debut after the NCAA deemed him eligible, going one-for-four in all five games while adding five RBIs.
Tennessee’s offense exploded on the week, especially against a Gonzaga team that has a very weak bullpen. The Vols totaled 32 runs in their three-games against the Zags including 17 on Sunday.
While Tennessee’s lineup feasted on a bad Gonzaga pitching staff, the Zags offense had as much success as anyone else this season against the Vols’ pitching staff.
Tennessee gave up 13 runs in the three-game series and 16 runs on the five-game week.
