Former Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is in Indianapolis this week showcasing his talents for NFL scouts at the NFL Combine.

In the four-day event, wide receivers completed drills on Saturday along with quarterbacks and tight ends.

Among the drills was the 40-yard dash. Hyatt ran a unofficial 4.41, later officially marked as a 4.40, for his first 40-yard dash. Watch Hyatt showcase his speed below.

The NFL later released the official 40-yard dash times, and Hyatt officially ran a 4.40.

Hyatt’s first 40-yard dash time currently ranks as the tied for third-best time among wide receivers at the combine, but there are still a lot of players to go, including former Vol wideout Cedric Tillman. All the wide receivers who are yet to run will get the opportunity to run another 40-yard dash.

In his second 40-yard dash, Hyatt ran an unofficial 4.42.

Hyatt’s 40-yard dash time was faster than the times of reigning offensive player of the year Justin Jefferson and future Hall of Fame wide receiver Julio Jones.

The 2022 Biletnikoff Winner has also impressed in other areas at the Combine, including the broad jump and vertical. Hyatt performed an 11’3 broad jump, a great number for a wide receiver right at six-feet tall.

Hyatt followed it up with a good showing in the vertical, jumping 40 inches.

Hyatt is one of seven Vols taking part in the NFL Combine, along with fellow wide receiver Cedric Tillman, linebacker Jeremy Banks, EDGE rusher Byron Young, punter Paxton Brooks, offensive lineman Darnell Wright and quarterback Hendon Hooker.

All of the Vols are taking part in on-field activities outside of Hooker, who continues to rehab a torn ACL.
