Spring practice is just around the corner as SEC football teams looking to find their footing as the 2023 football season gets closer-and-closer.

With spring practice around the corner, multiple outlets have put out conference quarterback rankings with the season still six months away.

So where does Joe Milton III stand in rankings?

According to On3’s SEC Stat Cat, Milton is the fourth best quarterback in the conference at this point coming in behind No. 1 KJ Jefferson (Arkansas), No. 2 Jayden Daniels (LSU) and No. 3 Devin Leary (Kentucky). Milton comes in ranked ahead of notable quarterbacks Spencer Rattler (South Carolina), Jalen Milroe (Alabama) and Graham Mertz (Wisconsin).

Athlon Sports isn’t as high on Milton entering the 2023 season, ranking him as the conference’s sixth best quarterback behind Jefferson (1st), Mississippi State’s Will Rogers (2nd), Daniels (3rd), Rattler (4th) and Leary (5th).

Despite a lower ranking, the talented quarterback is still ahead of Alabama’s Ty Simpson, Georgia’s Carson Beck and Mertz.

It’s a transition year for SEC quarterbacks with the conference’s top signal callers off to professional football. Bryce Young, Hendon Hooker, Stetson Bennett, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis have all moved on and are off to try their hand at the NFL.

The conference is bringing in a number of transfer quarterbacks including Mertz, Leary and Ole Miss’ Spencer Sanders.
