Tennessee point guard Zakai Zeigler exited the Vols’ matchup with Arkansas with an apparent left knee injury in the game’s opening minutes. Zeigler is out for the rest of the game according to a Tennessee spokesperson.

Zeigler drove baseline, dished to a teammate in the corner and fell to the ground immediately and in obvious pain holding his left knee.

Tennessee trainer Chad Newman and head coach Rick Barnes quickly came out to check on Zeigler who stayed on the ground for multiple minutes before limping off the court with the help of Newman and strength coach Garrett Medenwald.

Zeigler put no weight on his left leg while heading straight to the locker room.

The sophomore point guard is one of Tennessee’s best and most important players and entered the game posting 11 points and 5.5 assists per game.

His absence is magnified by backup point guard Tyreke Key being unavailable against Arkansas with a right ankle injury.
