No. 3 Tennessee baseball downed Dayton on the baseball field on Friday afternoon by a score of 12-2. Friday’s game was the first of a three-game series that will continue on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon in Knoxville.
Just minutes before the game, news broke that Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello had been suspended for the weekend series against Dayton. Tennessee associate head coach Josh Elander took over in Vitello’s place and helped the team cruise to the 10-run win at home. Chase Dollander was the starting pitcher on Friday.
