The West Orange, New Jersey native has plenty of Big 10 programs in his top group with Tennessee and Georgia being the SEC’s representatives.
McClain ranks as the No. 242 player and No. 21 safety in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot safety also ranks as the fourth best prep player in New Jersey.

It’s local Rutgers that McClain has visited more than any other school. The talented safety has taken the short trip to Rutgers five times including twice in 2022. McClain also took a pair of visits to Penn State during 2022 including once during football season.
The blue chip recruit has also visited Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State and Tennessee once. McClain’s first visit in 2023 was a trip to Knoxville for one of the Vols’ January Junior Days— showing Tennessee is a real player in his recruitment.
Tennessee’s three-commit 2024 recruiting class includes one defensive back: four-star Nashville native Kaleb Beasley. While McLain is a safety, Beasley is a true corner.
The Vols’ three-commit class ranks No. 18 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
