Former Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is at the Reese’s Senior Bowl this week as he continues his off-the-field preparation for the NFL Draft on April 27.
The main talking point around Hooker right now relates to the ACL surgery that he underwent back in November after the South Carolina game.
As the recovery continues, though, the initial signs are positive. According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero on Monday, Hooker is walking without crutches as of about a week ago. Additionally, Hooker hopes that he “should” be available for training camp later in the year. All of that optimistic news helps Hooker trend toward a Day 2 draft pick with the other talent he already has.
The Reese’s Senior Bowl will continue throughout the week as Hooker meets with different representatives, scouts, and coaches from all 32 teams in the NFL.
“I think that I’ll come back better than ever,” Hooker said in the interview. “Like I said before, being able to actually sit down and concentrate on different aspects of my game and make sure my body is getting back to where it is supposed to be and beyond that as well. I’m excited to get back in the groove of things and sling it around.”
