Tennessee football made the top eight for blue chip receiver Bredell Richardson Saturday, the Florida native released on Twitter.

Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame joined the Vols in the top group.

Richardson is one of the top receivers in the nation, ranking as the No. 117 player and No. 21 receiver in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Carollwood Day standout also ranks as the No. 20 player in the state of Florida in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-1 receiver has a strong balance of size and speed, making him one of the best junior prep players in Florida.

A Tampa native, Richardson has been to Florida more than any other school. The blue chip receiver has taken four visits to Gainesville including two since Billy Napier has taken over. However, Florida didn’t even make his top eight.

Richardson twice visited Georgia in 2022 and has also seen Alabama, LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame once. The four-star recruit has yet to visit Tennessee. If the Vols want to become a serious player in Richardson’s recruitment, getting him on campus this spring is imperative.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains three commits and ranks No. 16 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
