According to WFAA on Sunday morning, two-time National Championship winning Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was arrested in Dallas, Texas on a charge of public intoxication.
The report states that the arrest happened around 6:00 a.m. Sunday in Old East Dallas according to Dallas police.
The WFAA report via the Dallas police department states that officers were responding to a situation that involved an unknown man “banging on doors in the area”. Despite not being able to specifically confirm that Bennett was the individual banging on the doors, police did find Bennett on arrival and “determined he was intoxicated.”
The 25-year-old was arrested on site prior to being taken to a detention center with a release time that is still to be determined as of 10:47 a.m. ET on Sunday morning.
Stetson Bennett has led the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back college football national championships, most recently a 65-7 beatdown of Texas Christian University in early January.
