NFL Sunday Betting Preview
From injuries to rookies, there is more than enough to keep an eye on this Sunday, Jan. 29, that will impact wagering opportunities. Review the previews below to get caught up before using your bet credits on FanDuel.
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles — 3 p.m. ET (FOX)
Point Spread: Eagles -2.5 (-115)
Moneyline: Eagles -148 | 49ers +126
Total points: Over 46.5 (-110) | Under 46.5 (-110)
Both of these defenses are the best remaining in the playoffs and will have a significant impact on the outcome of this game. The 49ers’ starting QB Brock Purdy is aiming to become the first rookie QB to make the Super Bowl, and he’ll have to make some big plays to get the job done. The Eagles’ pass defense was one of the stingiest in the league this year, so the 49ers may need a career game from the rookie just to stay competitive.
Jalen Hurts was having an MVP-caliber season prior to his injury. He won both games since he returned, but he hasn’t faced a defense as good as the 49ers. His versatility led to a career year for him, but the 49ers have taken the rush away from competitors all season. If the Eagles’ run game is stalled, Hurts will have to adjust in a way he hasn’t needed too much this year. He led the league in passes out of RPO formations. When combined with his play-action attempts, he leads all QBs in pass attempts dependent on run-game misdirection.
All eyes will be on the QBs in this one, and although Purdy, too, will have to adjust, Hurts without a doubt has the edge.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs — 6:30 p.m. ET (CBS)
Point Spread: Chiefs -1.5 (-108)
Moneyline: Chiefs -118 | Bengals +100
Total Points: Over 48 (-110) | Under 48 (-110)
The biggest question about this game was answered recently when Patrick Mahomes announced he is playing. He was a full participant in practice this Wednesday and seems good to go. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll be anywhere near healthy, and that doesn’t bode well for the Chiefs.
Even with a healthy Mahomes, the Chiefs haven’t fared well against the Bengals as of late. They now have dropped three straight to Joe Burrow and company, including their matchup in the AFC Championship game last year. The Chiefs’ defense is a problem yet again for the Super Bowl hopefuls, and the Bengals’ offense is in a zone and is coming off a stellar performance against the Bills last weekend.
On the other hand, the Bengals’ defense has been one of the best in the regular season and in the playoffs this year. If Mahomes’ injury significantly hinders him, the Bengals will have a significant edge on both sides of the ball. Although the Chiefs are favorites in this one, the Bengals have a lot going in their favor and seem primed for an upset.
