Class of 2024 defensive lineman Jayden Jackson is visiting Tennessee this weekend for the Vols’ second January Junior Day.

Jackson is a fast rising prospect in the 2024 recruiting class after posting a strong junior prep season at IMG Academy in Florida. Jackson is unranked according to the 247sports composite and other recruiting rankings.

While Jackson is rated as a high recruit, top programs are pursuing him. Tennessee, Penn State and Ohio State are listed as the favorites to land Jackson according to 247sports. Ten different programs, including Tennessee, Ohio State and USC, have offered Jackson a scholarship since the start of the new year.

Penn State offered Jackson back in September and have gotten a slight head start in his recruitment because of it. The 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman visited Penn State for a game this fall and also took summer visits to both Penn State and Ohio State before they offered him a scholarship.

Jackson’s late January trip to Knoxville is his first as a recruit and gives Tennessee a chance to make themselves an early player in the Florida native’s recruitment. And while Jackson is currently unranked, the quality of programs pursuing him make it likely that won’t be the case for long.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently holds three commits including one from Chattanooga defensive lineman Carson Gentle. The three-play recruiting class ranks 14th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
