NFL Saturday Betting Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles have been two of the most dominant teams in the NFL all season long. However, both teams have glaring concerns heading into their matchups this Saturday.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs, 4:30 p.m. ET (NBC)

Despite a dominant season, the Chiefs only have one signature win. That win came early in the season against the San Francisco 49ers with Jimmy Garoppolo under center. The 49ers have morphed into a completely different team since then. The other two competitive teams on the Chiefs’ schedule were the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, who both beat the Chiefs on their turf.

The Jags don’t have the defense of either of those teams, but they do have a stellar young QB, who is more than good enough to give the Chiefs’ defense a few problems. Trevor Lawrence made his first start last week and led the Jags to an impressive comeback victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last week. With playoff experience under his wings, he may have garnered the confidence needed to appear even more the star he is expected to be. The Jags will need it if they are to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes, who could win another MVP award this year.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles, 8:15 p.m. ET (FOX)

The Eagles and Giants played each other as recently as two weeks ago. Hurts made his return from injury to lead the Eagles to victory in a must-win game to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Although they won, it was by one possession and Daniel Jones didn’t take the field. The third matchup could look vastly different.

Jones is coming off a stellar performance against the Minnesota Vikings, throwing for 331 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and rushing for nearly 100 yards. Although the Eagles’ defense is much better, this will be the Giants’ third bite at the apple to figure it out. Hurts’ comfort with live action after missing games, returning, and then being off for a bye week could be problematic.

The Eagles are still very much the better team, but this contest has upset potential written all over it and is one of the most exciting to follow for wager opportunities this weekend.
