Despite a back-and-forth effort from both teams in the first half, No. 5 Tennessee (14-2, 4-0 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (8-8, 1-2 SEC) by a score of 77-68 in Knoxville on Tuesday afternoon.
After the game, Vanderbilt head coach Jerry Stackhouse met with the media to discuss his team’s loss to Tennessee. Stackhouse spoke about the gameplan coming into the contest, his thoughts on Tennessee in relation to the entire SEC, and more.
After Stackhouse met with the media, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes took his turn answering questions from the room. Barnes spoke about his respect for Stackhouse and what he is building at Vanderbilt, what he thought Tennessee was lacking in the first half, and his thoughts on the Vols’ second-half response.

No. 5 Tennessee will return to the court in Knoxville this Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. noon for a game against Kentucky.
