Five-star class of 2024 receiver Ryan Wingo is unofficially visiting Tennessee this weekend for the Vols’ junior day, 247sports Steve Wiltfong reported Tuesday afternoon.

Wingo is one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 14 player and No. 3 receiver in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Saint Louis native is the top player in the state of Missouri.

With Wingo at the top of the Missouri state recruiting rankings, Tennessee is looking to sign the top player in the “Show Me State” for the second consecutive year. The Vols beat out South Carolina and Texas A&M to land blue chip defensive end Chandavian Bradley.

While Wingo’s mid-January visit is his first to Tennessee in 2023, the five-star receiver twice visited Knoxville in 2022. Wingo visited Tennessee in June and again for the Florida game in September.

The 6-foot-2 receiver’s visit to Tennessee won’t be his only one this month. According to Wiltfong, Wingo plans to visit Texas A&M next weekend and Colorado on Jan. 28. Wingo also plans to visit home state school Missouri in February.

Wingo also took multiple visits to both Arkansas and Notre Dame during 2022 but doesn’t have 2023 visits planned to either school.

Tennessee has three players committed in the 2023 cycle but no receivers. The Vols’ recruiting class ranks No. 13 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
