The Jan. 3 edition of the AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll was officially released earlier this week with five Southeastern Conference teams making the cut.
Alabama has jumped over Tennessee in the Top 10 as the Crimson Tide leads the conference with the No. 7 ranking in the country. The Vols, on the other hand, flipped with Alabama and are now the No. 8 team in the country.
In the previous rankings, Tennessee was at No. 7 and Alabama was at No. 8 in the poll.
The Tide thumped Ole Miss on Tuesday night as Alabama now looks ahead to a matchup against Kentucky in Tuscaloosa this Saturday afternoon.
After previously being ranked in the Top 10, Arkansas dropped to No. 13 in the latest poll after a three-point loss to unranked LSU right before the turn of the year. The Razorbacks did follow that up with a six-point win over Missouri at home this week, though.
Speaking of Missouri, the Tigers are suddenly the fourth-highest-ranked team from the SEC this week coming in at No. 20 in the rankings.
Auburn rounds out the list at the No. 22 spot in the Jan. 3 AP Top 25 poll but will likely be falling after a loss to Georgia on Wednesday night.
Kentucky and Mississippi State both dropped from the AP Poll this week while LSU sits as the top unranked team receiving the most votes.
