The class of 2023’s early signing period was a successful event for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers football program.
Tennessee officially announced 29 signees on Wednesday afternoon with two-time Tennessee Mr. Football and Knoxville running back DeSean Bishop also adding in a commitment later on in the day.
The Vols’ class is headlined by five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava and five-star defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs, with many more talented players behind them. Eight of Tennessee’s signees come from the state of Georgia while seven come from the state of Tennessee. Three players are from Alabama, two are from California and North Carolina, and one player represents Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, respectively.
In addition, Tennessee has signed six defensive linemen, five defensive backs, five offensive linemen, four linebackers, three receivers, two tight ends, two placekickers, one quarterback, and one running back.
