Tennessee Football tight end Jacob Warren met with the media on Wednesday afternoon to discuss how he is handling bowl prep and his decision on whether or not to return to Tennessee.

Warren was noncommittal on his decision, noting he is intently focused on the bowl game at the moment, and that the decision will come at a later time.

Warren has served as one of the top tight ends for the Vols over the past couple of seasons alongside Princeton Fant. Unlike Fant, Warren still has another year of eligibility due to NCAA COVID-19 eligibility relief. Although Warren went through Senior Day festivities in mid-November, the Knoxville, native is still leaving the door open for a potential return for one final season.

A four-time All-SEC Academic Honor Roll member, Warren has been a significant locker room leader along with being a leader on the playing field.

Warren started has co-started every game for Tennessee over the past two seasons, catching 30 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to his ability to catch passes and serve as a security blanket for Hendon Hooker, Warren has also made a sizable impact in run blocking.

Given Warren’s clear focus on the bowl game, there is extremely little chance his decision would involve opting out of the Orange Bowl. So, Warren will have at least one more game to compete in Orange and White.

Warren’s Vols will face off against Clemson in the Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, on December 30 at 8 p.m. ET.
