Joe Milton III will be taking the reigns as the starting quarterback for the No. 10 Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday against Vanderbilt.
After an ACL injury derailed the remainder of Hendon Hooker’s season, Milton is now back in the driver’s seat as Tennessee’s starting quarterback.
And despite not starting a game this year, as a player that has consistently been a locker-room leader over the past two seasons, Milton has all earned the confidence of his players and teammates.
“We have all the confidence in the world in Joe Milton III,” Tennessee running back Jabari Small said this week. “I was talking to one of the trainers yesterday, last week in practice when Hendon was in, Joe would be right behind me while I’m in the huddle. He (was) preparing like he was QB1 throughout the whole year, so he is definitely prepared for this opportunity.”
