The final week of the 2022 regular season for the Tennessee Volunteers football team is officially underway.
Coming off of the loss to South Carolina over the weekend, the Vols are now in an interesting position. The big goal of the playoffs is now off the table, but as defensive lineman Omari Thomas said on Monday, Tennessee still knows what they are playing for next week with New Year’s Six bowl games on the line.
On Monday, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and two players met with the media to give their thoughts on the South Carolina loss and talk about the next game against Vanderbilt. Heupel spoke about the player’s mentality inside of the facility on Monday morning, the challenges that Vanderbilt presents on the field, his reaction to Hendon Hooker’s injury, and a quick update on Jeremy Banks’ status for this weekend.
In addition to Heupel, Tennessee linebacker Aaron Beasley and defensive lineman Omari Thomas met with the media as well. Both players spoke about bouncing back against Vanderbilt, coming together as a team through adversity, and much more.
