While they did get off to a bit of a slow start on Monday night in Knoxville, the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers found their shot in the second half and cruised to a 32-point win to open the season.
Tennessee defeated Tennessee Tech by a score of 75-43 on Monday night in Knoxville.
After the game, Vols head coach Rick Barnes met with the media to discuss the game. Barnes spoke about the impressive performance of former transfer Tyreke Key, who led all scorers in the game with 17 points.
Barnes also spoke about Tennessee’s slow start only scoring 27 points in the first half, and the message to the team to turn the game around at halftime.
Barnes on why Tennessee shoots more threes now: "Because we can shoot it well."
