Tennessee Opens As Big Favorites Against Missouri

Tennessee football opened as a 20-point favorite over Missouri Sunday, according to CircaSports.

The over/under is set at 62.5

Tennessee is 7-2 against the spread this season and 3-2 against the spread in SEC play. The over has hit five times in Tennessee games this season while the under has hit four times including each of the last two weeks.

Missouri is 5-4 against the spread this season and is 3-3 against the spread in SEC play. The over has hit just once in Missouri games this season while the under has hit eight times.

The Tigers have played nearly every conference opponent close, with their 13-point win over South Carolina being the only game decided by more than a touchdown.

Tennessee enters the matchup coming off its first loss of the season as the Vols fell at Georgia. Missouri is coming off a narrow home loss to Kentucky to drop to 4-5 (2-4 SEC) on the season.

The Vols have won three straight games in the series dating back to the 2019 win in Columbia. A season ago, Tennessee humiliated the Tigers, 62-24, in Columbia for Josh Heupel’s first SEC win at Tennessee.

In the offseason, Missouri coach Eliah Drinkwitz took a shot at Tennessee and its troubles with the NCAA stemming from Jeremy Pruitt’s tenure.

Kick off at Neyland Stadium is at noon ET Saturday. CBS is broadcasting the matchup as game one of its doubleheader.
