Basketball season is here.
Tennessee’s men’s basketball opens its highly anticipated 2022-23 season Monday night against Tennessee Tech.
There’s high expectations for Tennessee after returning four starters from last season’s 27-8 (14-4 SEC) team season ago. The Vols finished second in SEC regular season before winning the SEC Tournament and losing in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
Tennessee returns veterans Josiah-Jordan James, Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler and added instant impact contributors Julian Phillips and Tyreke Key.

The SEC’s media picked Tennessee to finish third in the conference behind Kentucky and Arkansas while James, Vescovi and Zeigler landed on the preseason All-SEC teams.
Tennessee is No. 11 in both the preseason AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll. Both were the third highest rankings in the SEC behind Kentucky and Arkansas.
Tip-off at Thompson-Boling Arena is at 7 p.m. ET. The SEC Network+ and ESPN+ are streaming the game. The Vols face their first power five test of the season on Nov. 6 against Colorado in Nashville.
